Welcome to my small, independent brand - Kuura.
So, what is the story behind Kuura?
To me, journaling isn't just writing or recording. The entire concept of this brand is purely based on the idea of building a room for one's inner child.
Have you ever touched the heart of a white seashell? When a white shell closes, its world remains entirely whole.
That's exactly what I'm trying to create - a private, soft sanctuary, a place to examine and embrace oneself in silence. Kuura is about a sense of security, and "security" means allowing oneself to be one's own atmosphere.
Who are you, and why did you create Kuura?
I’m Rinka.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts and currently based in Shanghai, I work as a pop art and doll designer and live with my little puppy, Pillow.
Because of my work, I travel a lot. Whether I'm commuting, traveling for business, going on vacation, hanging out with friends, or just spending a weekend at a cafe, a bistro, or a picnic, I always carry a little notebook with me.
I am obsessed with aesthetic spread layouts. I love taking the time to decorate my pages with pens, sticker sheets, and washi tapes, detailing my moods and random thoughts. But sometimes, I just pull out my journal to scribble a few lines or slap on a sticker to capture a fleeting feeling in the moment.
I love creating, and I crave freshness. So, I started making my own uniquely designed journaling accessories—my first handmade book cover, then a tin box, and eventually, many cute little items. That was the very beginning of Kuura.

Right now, Kuura focuses on offering uniquely designed, handmade journaling and stationery supplies that I personally adore:
